The Allergieradar app developed by the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Wageningen University and Triptic gives you:
1. A current overview of the hay fever intensity throughout the Netherlands and in five regions throughout the year.
2. The possibility to register the course of your own hay fever complaints. For this you must first register on www. Allergieradar .nl. The app determines your location based on your position in relation to the masts. If the GPS is on, that option is used. You can also create your fixed locations at Allergieradar .nl and select them in the app.
We use the complaints scores for scientific research with which we can improve hay fever expectation and information provision into hay fever patients. Your data will of course be fully anonymous. The first results from the first three years Allergieradar already give many new insights. The power of the Allergieradar research is the cooperation between experts in the field of health, biology and distribution of hay fever plants, meteorology and communication.
On Allergieradar .nl you can compare your own complaint scores with the daily pollen rails of the LUMC. This gives you more insight into which pollen to what extent your complaints causes. This is not clear to most people. This allows you to reduce your symptoms and help your doctor make the diagnosis and any treatment/prevention plan. The complaints information in relation to Pollentingen is an interesting addition to the existing hay fever tests.
3. A new and unique expectation of the start and duration of the flowering of the most important hay fever plants from the pollen planner on a daily basis based on the recent weather and the long -term weather forecast. With these expectations you can see the hay fever season arriving and possibly taking measures weeks before the start. A long -term expectation of the hay fever intensity cannot be given. Nobody has that knowledge yet.
4. Regular news items written by the Hay fever specialists of the LUMC and Wageningen University with an interpretation of the daily pollen rails, the passed on complaint scores and with information about new research results.
5. A daily hay fever expectation of the LUMC during the grassy season.
6. Relevant background information about hay fever, pollen, pollen calendars and the plants that produce allergenic pollen.
7. The current local weather.
